Bouyancy,Density,and Displacement

Bouyancy-The loss in weight an object undergoes when placed in a liquid. It determines whether an object will sink or float.

Density- An object's mass divided by it's volume. Water's density is 1.0 . If something has a greater density than that,it will sink in the water.

Displacement- When an object is placed in a liquid, it pushes some of the liquid out of the way and takes it's place. If something displaces less than what it weighs, it will sink.
